Ok first let’s just be real for a second here. I don’t know how food bloggers do it. Trying to create a smoothie and make it look pretty was exhausting. OMG, I basically needed a nap after shooting this post. I have a much deeper appreciation for all of the foodie people I follow on Instagram who make it look easy and beautiful. So, on to week two of my #GlowGetter challenge with Fresh Beauty (you can still sign up here) and this week’s theme is Energize. Part of our welcome package from NYC trip to kick off the challenge included Lily’s cookbook Good Clean Food. I already bought a few and sent them to friends. Honestly I pick it up at least once a day to scroll through the pages and think about all the delicious things I can try to make (try is the keyword). Going through the book has inspired me not only to think more about what I eat but to try new things. Craig and I love smoothies and make one almost every day, so I decided to create something that was packed with protein and energy boosting ingredients for that mid-morning (or mid-afternoon) boost. I love peaches in the summer but you could recreate this recipe with raspberries, blackberries, etc. I’m hoping the more I try to cook the better I’ll get.

Ingredients
2 cups frozen fruit (peaches, strawberries and blueberries)
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 banana
1 cup coconut water (you can also use regular filtered water)
1 scoop protein powder (I like Bob’s Red Mill Vanilla Protein Powder)
1 scoop vital proteins collagen peptides (unflavored)
Granola for topping (optional)
Combine all the ingredients in a blender (I use the Ninja Professional blender I bought from Target and I love it). It helps if you put the liquids in first at the bottom. Blend until smooth. Add toppings of choice, I usually add a handful of granola for some crunch (just pay attention to the sugar content of store bought granola). Give yourself a pat on the back for creating a delicious and healthy snack and enjoy!

This recipe sounds amazing!! I’ve never thought to put peaches into a smoothie, I have to try it out 🙂

This recipe looks delicious, I love smoothies, especially fruit and veggie smoothies. I’d probably add some spinach or kale to recipe to get some greens in, I find that my greens taste great in sweet smoothies like this one. Thanks for sharing, I’m going to have to try this recipe soon.

I will have to try peaches in my next smoothie. I have a fruit smoothie almost every day but haven’t tried a peach yet.
