One Dress Two Ways

Many months ago when I asked what type of (fashion) posts you wanted to see, I got a lot of requests for how to style one piece several ways. Of course I wear a lot of the same thing, but don’t always post that here. So, I’m a few months late, but I love today’s post because this dress is super versatile and very affordable. We’ve had some really incredible fall-like weather, but we’re also about to get hit with a heat wave this week, basically typical late summer in New England. Of course there’s more than two ways to style this dress, but these two looks are great options for hot or cool days. It also looks really cute with converse or flats (and comes in a few different colors). On a different note, Craig and I are taking an actual, real vacation this week (starting tomorrow). We realized the last time we had a true vacation was Christmas and we’re both feeling a bit burnt out so this week is a good chance to regroup before it gets crazy again. It’s a staycation so we don’t even have anything planned, except for maybe going to the movies and trying a new restaurant in Providence, but it will be nice to stay off the computers for a few days! There will still be new posts going up this week on the blog and TWO new YouTube videos (Thursday and Sunday). Hope all of you have a great last week of August.

The fisherman sweater over the dress combination is phenomenal, particularly with those ankle boots!

I’m too heavy for it to work for me, but I agree; it’s so great!

    Jessica,

Wanted to drop in and say that I am stunned by the effort and care you put into your blog. I was listening to your stories a few months back and I remember you saying how frustrated you were by certain bloggers who complain, when the fact is just that their content isn’t that good. You talked about the importance of content creation, and that has stuck with me ever since. I just wanted to say that you have some of the BEST content of anyone I’ve seen and as I continue to put my heart into my own little blog, I continue to think of you and draw inspiration. <3 Thanks for being a trail blazer!

Do you wear a slip under these type of dresses? Or very sheer undergarments? I always have trouble with panty lines. Just wondering how others solve this.

I actually didn’t wear a bra and I wore nude underwear. The rust color was ok but it might be tough with a lighter color.
