How to Nail French Girl Style this Summer

Seriously though, who doesn’t love french girl style? Minimal make-up, undone hair, and effortless style that’s all about classic, chic pieces and celebrating natural beauty. When pulling together a Parisian inspired look, think striped tees, lived in denim (but not too distressed), chic flats, and natural beauty. Who wants to wear a face full of heavy make-up in the summer (or ever for that matter)? Not me. Throw on some tinted moisturizer, a few swipes of mascara and add a little salt spray to your hair for that lived in, I woke up like this look. FYI, I did not wake up like that, I used my t3 micro wand with the 1″ barrel and then added salt spray (but you get the point). Scroll down for the must-have pieces to nail French girl style.

Stripe Tee

It’s almost embarrassing how many striped tees I have in my wardrobe. It’s one of those things though that I reach for again and again. Whether it’s paired alone with jeans or layered under a chic blazer you honestly just can’t go wrong with stripes.

My Favorite Basic Tees

Lived in Denim

You want to find a pair of denim that are perfectly worn. This pair from AG definitely takes the cake. A raw hem or slight distressing add the perfect touch of effortless. Just keep the rips to a minimum.

Delicate Jewelry

Even better if you have some dainty jewels passed down from a relative. I always wear a few rings passed down to me and I live in my Mejuri choker and Missoma horn necklace. Go ahead and layer it all on together, for multiple necklaces play with a few different lengths and chain styles.

Neutral Flat Sandals

Forget teetering around in uncomfortable heels, find some neutral flats for walking and exploring. French girl style is as much about the clothes as it is about the lifestyle and attitude, carefree and ready for adventure.

Straw Tote

For your trips to the farmer’s market or the beach, nothing says Parisian chic like a straw tote.

Leather Belt

No look is complete without a classic leather belt. If you can find one in a vintage store or on Etsy even better.
