My Favorite Things: February 2019

Happy Spring! It sure does sound like it, but it definitely doesn’t look like it. Barcelona was so nice because it was true spring-like weather and sunny everyday. A little later than usual, but wanted to share my favorite things from last month.

One

The Capsule Wardrobe Series

I really had no idea when I started the Capsule Wardrobe how much it would take off. It’s really exciting and has also made the style component of my content fun and new. Since creating the Capsule it has been my most viewed blog post (ever) in just a few short months. I’ve started creating some IGTV styling videos to show how to wear the pieces different ways, and as the weather gets a little nicer, I’ll be creating more blog content as well.

Two

Over My Dead Body

Self-proclaimed true crime junkie over here, especially podcasts. From the same creators of Dirty John and Dr Death comes this binge-worthy story about two lawyers, a seemingly perfect couple whose wedding is featured in the New York Times. As their relationship begins to fall apart, it eventually leads to divorce, and then murder.

Three

Everlane Stretch High Rise Skinny Jeans

To say I live in these skinny jeans would almost be an understatement. They are so comfortable, so flattering and so versatile. I haven’t washed them much, they hold their shape really well. I like a slightly cropped fit so went with the ankle length. They fit tts (I have a 24) and have just the right amount of stretch.

Four

West Elm Cordoba Rug

We are doing a little mini bedroom makeover and one of my favorite things is the rug from West Elm. I’ve always been a big West Elm fan but somehow never tried any of their rugs. It’s the most gorgeous blend of subtle pinks and neutrals and perfectly ties together everything in the room. I can’t wait to show you guys the updated space.

Five

Metal Storage Baskets

As most of you know I have been hardcore Kon Mari’ing the house since watching Marie Kondo’s show on Netflix. One area that was driving me insane was our kitchen pantry. It was a disaster, and we were not utilizing what is actually an amazing amount of storage. I ordered these metal storage baskets on Amazon and they completely transformed our pantry. It’s so neat and tidy and I can easily find everything I am looking for. It also helps when I’m going to the store and checking what we need. I kept buying stuff we already had because I couldn’t see it in the clutter.

Six

Le Creuset Dutch Oven in Sea Salt

Le Creuset released a new color palette and the calming hues are just perfection. We got the Sea Salt Round Dutch Oven and the color goes so well in our kitchen, most of the time I leave it out on the stove even when we’re not using it. I also love the Meringue which is a chalky warm white, reminiscent of a French country cottage.

Seven

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color

I’m always looking for products that are easy, versatile and look natural when it comes to make-up. I want to spend as little time as possible actually doing my make-up, so I am kind of obsessed with these eyeshadow sticks from Laura Mercier. I use the au naturel on my lids for everyday, and the rosegold under my brow for a little shimmer.

    Hi Jessica!

I’ve always used the Staub French oven and I’m delighted with his black enamel. For me its perfect! Do you prefer the cocottes from Le Creussete to the Staub?

    Thanks!

I’ve actually never tried anything from Staub but I’ve always heard great things.
