Memorial Day Outfit Ideas from Beach to BBQ

Hey guys! I’m Grace, you might remember me from my Simple Summer Beauty Updates post and if not, nice to meet you. I’m looking forward to contributing new content to the site on a more regular basis, so expect to see more beauty and lifestyle posts from me this summer. Whatever your plans are for MDW I’ve rounded up a few outfit ideas to help inspire your holiday weekend style.

I love high neck bikini tops, they are so sporty chic and great for days when you are looking for more coverage. You can’t go wrong with a white & navy suit– it looks great in a set or is easy to mix and match with your other tops and bottoms. Make sure to wear lots of SPF this summer, the Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen is a favorite of mine, it’s not sticky and has SPF 50. If you’re not looking to wear a full face of makeup to the beach, but still want a little bit of coverage, the Coola BB+ Cream with SPF 30 is the way to go.

Anyone else obsessed with the straw everything trend? I’m talking baskets, clutches, hats– the list goes on. This cult favorite clutch Gaia’s Ark is so cute to hold your SPF, keys, phone and wallet and is perfect to bring to drinks after the beach. Throw on a Panama hat and sunglasses to complete the look and make sure to drink lots of H20… but you already knew that.

Throw on some cutoffs with your suit or try this off the shoulder gingham top (on sale!) for a classic BBQ look. Accessories with strappy suede sandals, aviators and a watch to make sure you’re not late for the fireworks.

Bring along a Bose speaker to get the good vibes going and always be the one that brings the wine– everyone likes that person.

Stay cool in a breezy boho shift dress and bring a denim jacket in case it gets chilly. Pair this with some lace-up sandals for a more casual setting, or add a little height with espadrilles if you are going somewhere fancier. Some dainty bracelets will add a little sparkle to your look, I love these ones from Gorjana.
