There’s a lot of things I love about the holidays, but my favorite thing is entertaining. Craig and I love having friends over during the holiday season for cozy nights with lots of wine and cheese. We also both really love decorating, but our apartment is small and we don’t have any storage space, so we find little ways to make our place feel festive. I teamed up with one of my absolute favorite places to shop, Christmas Tree Shops to share some of the fabulous holiday decor I found at the store. For those of you that aren’t familiar, Christmas Tree Shops doesn’t sell christmas trees (actually they might?) but they are much more than just a holiday store. They literally have everything from home decor and furniture to gifts and great stuff for your pets (I picked up this plaid bed for Nora while I was there). I try to stop in at least once a week because they are always getting in new stuff and you never know what you’ll find. On my last trip I picked up these awesome copper moscow mule mugs that have been on my list forever but they are usually really pricey, these were under $8 each!  I also picked up these plaid napkins (I think I bought every pack in the store), gold metallic candles, white ramekins, some ball jars for flowers and a cheeseboard that came with different cheese knives. And those cute french pillows on my bench seat, also from Christmas Tree Shops!

For a little festive holiday cocktail hour, I whipped up these yummy drinks with Prosecco, sparkling water, a small splash of ginger beer, pomegranate seeds and some rosemary (don’t they remind you of a Christmas tree?). Lucky for all of you, I’m giving one Prosecco & Plaid reader a $100 gift card to Christmas Tree Shops just in time for some holiday shopping (you can use it in store or online). Enter in the rafflecopter below (open to US residents only). The giveaway ends 11/15.

P.S. Make sure you check out my latest home decor gift guide and the holiday home decor shop.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is that we are all together. We spend a lot of time hanging out, cooking and watching football. It’s a wonderful time of year, especially if it snows, my son loves to ski and we spend time on the slopes 🙂

      Hi Heather,

Thanks so much! My boyfriend actually made the shelf with two really old pieces of wood. I should’ve taken pictures while he was making it to show how to do it but I think basically he took really old 2x4s and screwed one to the edge of the other to make the shelf and used two other pieces to make brackets. The wood was SUPER heavy though so not something you’d be able to hang on your own. I’ll let you know if I find anything online that’s similar though! xx

  44. Being able to spend time with family is my favorite thing about the holidays. It is always a rushed dinner or a quick lunch, but during the holidays you have no plans and can just be, un-rushed.
