HARBOUR ISLAND PHOTO DIARY
It feels like my time in the Bahamas was so long ago. I’ve only been back a week and it feels like months since I was swimming in the ocean and soaking up the warm sun, that’s always the way isn’t it?

WHITE ONE PIECE / STRIPED SHIRT/ STRAW HAT
March is always my favorite month to get away because theres still no sign of Spring in New England and it’s just about the time where I have absolutely had enough of winter. No better time to pack my bags and head south.
This year I teamed up with Lumoid to try out the 5D Mark III on my trip. As you can see from the photos, it did not disappoint. See our other collaboration with Lumoid here.

One of my favorite things about being in the Bahamas is the color. Yes, there’s sun and sand but the turquoise water and bright colors painted on the houses just can’t help but make you happy. What I loved about the 5D Mark III was how it captured the beautiful bright colors of the island. The images from the camera look like what I was seeing in person.
WHITE SHORTS (ALSO LOVE THE PRINT VERSION) / FRINGE TOP / LACE UP SANDALS
I love walking around town exploring every side street, I promise you, in Harbour Island, each one is better than the next. This white house with blue shutters was one of my favorites. And don’t be surprised if you run into a rooster, or two.

This house, The Hatch, was right near my favorite bakery, Arthur’s, where we go (almost) every morning for fried donuts, I took a few days off from my sugar high.
When we weren’t at the beach we were swimming off the dock. One afternoon we saw a sting ray swimming around which definitely creeped me out. I took a little break from swimming that day.

Capturing water shots on the 5D Mark III was so easy. Being able to have such great control over the shutter speed, ISO and aperture made for gorgeous photos every time.

The bougainvillea crawling up the houses and exteriors around the island is so beautiful. This white and blue house with the hot pink flowers was another one of my favorites.

One late afternoon we took a trip to the flats. How gorgeous is this cover up (see another from this brand here)? It matches the colors of the island!

COOL CHANGE GIGI TUNIC / PILYQ PRINTED ONE PIECE
We drive by this door every day on our way into town from the house. You could spend an entire day just stopping to look at and admire all the doors around the island. They’re all so unique.

Almost everyone drives around the island in golf carts with the exception of a few cars. None of them are as cool as this one though.
[one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last]
I guess I have a thing for the pink and blue color combination. Or maybe the island does? Either way, I just can’t get enough it.

REBECCA MINKOFF LACE TOP / WHITE JEAN SHORTS / JACK ROGERS / SUNGLASSES / LOREN HOPE BRACELET / LARSSON & JENNINGS WATCH
I had to take a picture in front of this beach shack. The light blue reminds me of the Pantone color of the year Serenity and with this pale pink lace blouse that resembles rose quartz, perfect combo.

Luckily I packed mostly swimsuits because I basically lived in them the whole time. I usually prefer one pieces over bikinis but I wore both. I really loved this black one piece.

When we weren’t walking the beach, running errands and shopping in town or swimming, we went out on the boat to explore. I loved the bokeh I was able to get using the 5D Mark III, it has great focusing control too.

One day we went to dog beach which is actually a little island. The only two inhabitants are these two dogs. They are so sweet and cute. People from the island take turns feeding them and bringing them water. Of course I wanted to bring them home.

This is another one of my favorite walls in town. The coral wall against the bright flowers is so pretty.
[one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last]
It always goes by too quickly but I certainly feel very lucky to be able to visit this special little island. I always come home with a smile and counting the days until summer.
