DIY ALL NATURAL WINTER SKINCARE

Mid-January is right about the time when my skin really starts to take a turn for the worst. The wind, freezing temps and indoor heat take a major toll on my already dry skin. Luckily, I have my own personal skin expert, my cousin Emily, an incredible esthetician who has tons of amazing at home skincare remedies to share. Here are a few of my favorite easy and affordable DIY skincare recipes to get your skin glowing and dewy with ingredients sitting in your kitchen cabinets! You can also follow my Pinterest board for more of my favorite skincare tips and tricks.
#1: Banana and Honey Face Mask: Combine 1/2 banana, 2 tablespoons raw honey, and 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix in a bowl until smooth and apply on face for 30 minutes. Can store in a glass jar for up to 6 months. cc: sincerelykinsey.blogspot.com
#2: Avocado Oil: Avocado oil’s abundant fatty acids help balance skin’s moisture levels, and the antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E protect skin from further damage. Combine equal parts avocado oil and evening-primrose oil (which supports collagen synthesis with its gamma linoleic acid) in a sealable bottle and shake to blend. Massage five or six drops into clean skin, and then cover your face with a warm washcloth for a minute to help the oils sink in. cc: MarthaStewart.com
#3: Natural Botox for Wrinkles Face Mask: Mash up half a banana with the back of a fork (the more ripe the banana, the better!). Mix in 1/4 cup yogurt and 1 tsp of honey. Spread the face mask all over your face. Relax for 15 minutes. Rinse off your face well. cc: Dr. Oz
#4: Orange Sugar Lip Scrub: Combine two teaspoons of sugar with a few drops of vitamin E oil (available at drugstores). Add two teaspoons of coconut oil and a few drops of fresh squeezed orange juice (preferably with pulp) until you reach a slightly grainy consistency. Package in a small tin. Massage blend over lips, then remove with a damp cloth. cc: http://www.youbeauty.com/
