Design Your Own Wardrobe with Frilly

Jess Ann Kirby designs the perfect faux fur coat with Frilly

You know that piece you’ve been trying to find forever, but you can’t seem to find anything that’s just right. Let me introduce you to Frilly. I first discovered Frilly when a friend started working there (internet friend because we’ve actually never met IRL- haha!). They are changing the game of fashion, with a concept that allows consumers to customize and create their own pieces, made-to-order, one at a time. This not only allows us, as the consumer to have more control over the finished product, but it reduces waste and the impact garment production has on the environment. I’m sure you’re probably aware of the impact the fashion industry has on the environment. It’s something I constantly struggle with, as someone who loves fashion but also cares deeply about sustainability and protecting our planet. I encourage you to check out Frilly’s ethics statement and their approach to manufacturing. They’re game changers in the way they approach sustainability and the treatment of their factory workers, something I think many of us often forget about when buying clothes. Whatever you’re looking for, chances are Frilly has it. You can customize everything from fabric to silhouettes, pockets, buttons, length, neckline, sleeve length, I could keep going. I created this faux fur coat which is honestly probably the most beautiful coat I’ve ever owned. The retro peter pan collar, silver buttons and beautiful color, it’s hard to believe it’s not the real thing. It’s also super warm. What’s even more amazing, they have a “Try It Free” option, so you can order your piece, and if you’re not satisfied you can send it back (though I think it’ll be hard to part with your own creation).

Okay, I’m obsessed with your coat and this whole concept. I just saw this photo of Jacqueline Kennedy in a dress I wanted to remake. How timely! Unfortunately, I cannot get to the frilly site because of a security certificate issue. I also tried my phone, but it’s still not working. 🙁
