At long last, excited to finally share some photos from our incredible trip to Denver. Craig and I had been once before, but it was during a cross country drive and we only stopped for less than 24 hours. Little did we know how amazing the mile high city really is. Our trip started out on a high note when we arrived at the hotel and the valet at the Hotel Teatro opened the door to say “Are you from Newport?!” Turns out we met when he worked at the Chanler last fall, so Rhode Island, I swear everywhere I go I meet someone from our little state. Anyway back to the Hotel Teatro. We had an incredible stay. The hotel is conveniently located only a few blocks from so many great neighborhoods with tons of cute restaurants and shops. If you are in Denver, I can’t recommend it enough.

We took full advantage of the hotel location and spent our time exploring different neighborhoods.

There are city bikes on almost every block so it’s super easy to rent them for riding around town. We rode to lunch at Los Chingones which I HIGHLY recommend. The most delicious mexican food and beautiful rooftop patio. There are also great coffee shops and stores across the street and a yummy bakery called Sugarmill downstairs.

The margaritas at Los Chingones were sooooo good. You have to be careful with the altitude. I couldn’t even finish mine!

The Hotel Teatro was built in 1911 and was originally the Denver Tramway Building.

Located within the Hotel Teatro is one of Downtown Denver’s best restaurants, the Nickel.

The Hotel Teatro also has bikes available for guests, so if you’re up early enough you can take them out for a spin around town or along the bike paths. They also have car service within 2 miles of the hotel so you can get a ride (complimentary!) to/from shopping, dining etc if you get tired of walking or biking.

We had the most beautiful view from the balcony of our room. You could see the city one way and the mountains the other.

On our last night we went to a My Morning Jacket show at Red Rocks (only about 20 minutes from the hotel) and it was the most incredible venue I have ever been to in my life. Words (and pictures) can’t really capture how magical it is, so if you are ever in Denver, or thinking about planning a trip, definitely add Red Rocks to your list!

Thank you to Hotel Teatro for a wonderful stay.
