So yesterday over on Instagram Stories I shared an update of our master bedroom mini makeover (above-still need new sconces, artwork and lighting above the bed). What ensued was a barrage of questions over how my duvet looks so fluffy and full and how does it cover the mattress on both sides?! I too used to live with a lackluster bedding situation and that incredibly annoying gap of emptiness where the insert doesn’t fill the duvet. That was until I got an insert from Boll & Branch. It’s fluffy, luxurious, doesn’t bunch up in weird places and is so warm and cozy (we have down alternative). We had an IKEA insert forever, and it was fine, but it just did not fill our king duvet covers and it didn’t have any fluff to it. Anyhoo, I am sure there are other amazing inserts out there, but Boll & Branch does not disappoint. Back to what I really want to discuss today, linen bedding.
I dipped my toe into the world of linen bedding with a duvet cover and shams from H&M over Black Friday last year. I was changed forever. We still have some cotton sheets and duvets, but they just don’t do it for me anymore, they’re basically just placeholders, saved for emergency use only when none of the linen sets are clean. Linen bedding has a more casual, lived in look I love, that just makes you want to dive into bed and curl up with a book or let’s be real, your phone and Netflix. Don’t let it’s looks deceive you though, it feels so luxurious and it’s good for warm or cool sleepers because it’s so breathable. I don’t know if I can ever go back to regular old cotton bedding again. Here are some of my favorites. What do you guys think? Linen bedding, yay or nay?
West Elm Belgian Flax Linen Sheet Set,
Duvet Cover & Shams
This is actually the only linen sheet set we have, so I have nothing to compare it to but OMG they’re so nice. Just thought of this as I am typing but what a great wedding gift. They soften as you wash them. I always stick to white sheets because I love the look, we went with the white duvet too.
Anthropologie Relaxed Cotton-Linen Duvet
I got this duvet in the ivory with stripe. I like that detail peeking out when it’s folded over (shown in my room above). This one has a button closure, it washes well and has a great lightweight feel.
H&M Washed Linen Duvet
Of all the linen bedding I have this one has seen the most wear, but I’ve also had it the longest. For the price, it’s held up really well, and I really like the snap button closure. I have the pink but the lighter neutrals look really nice too.
Parachute Linen Duvet Cover Set
I don’t actually have any bedding from Parachute but I’ve heard lots of rave reviews about the brand. From the looks of this set and their reviews I think it might be my next linen bedding purchase.
I’m really into it too! I am looking to change out our bedding color to a light-medium grey and I think linen would look the best/most chic!

I LOVE linen bed sheets and a duvet cover. I own a white set from Parachute and they are amazing, you won’t be disappointed!
I love linen bedding too!
My sister got me into Matteo. They are crazy expensive but often do sales on OKL and Gilt!!!!
And parachute is amazing. My friend in CHS has the whole set (sheets, duvet), and I woke up in a cloud of white linen goodness… I old myself I’d order when I got home but I couldn’t rationalize as I have so much bedding.
I highly recommend Linoto linen sheets! Such an investment but I swear our sheets are like a family heirloom. We previously had West Elm sheets and unfortunately they did not last more than one year of use (the fitted sheet ripped in multiple places). Linoto has been fantastic quality, and they’re based in Brooklyn!
Oh thanks for the rec I will check that out!
This looks perfect to snuggle in! Any recommendations on pillows you are loving?
Garnet Hill has the BEST linen bedding! It’s such great quality and holds up well over washings.
Oh great idea I used to by bedding from them years ago and it was amazing.
Obsessed with a linen bedspread, I cannot wait to invest in one once we’ve done up our bedroom 🙂
