Happy Friday. It’s a very rainy day here, but we are out of quarantine finally and Marin is feeling like herself again so I’m happy. Leaves are starting to turn and it’s looking very much like fall around town. We’ll probably stay close to home and work on some projects we’ve got going, particularly turning a spot in our basement into a mudroom/storage space. More on that soon. Wishing all of you a great weekend.

If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

Critics don’t understand this generation of athletes.

It’s time to retire the phrase working mom.

Did the girl-watching (sounds creepy) fad of the 1960’s teach men how to harass women?

I can’t remember if I mentioned this in a previous C.R.L. but The Chair on Netflix is a really interesting watch! (C)

Do you follow Diet Prada? This was a really captivating deep dive into the account.

Equilibria (the CBD brand we use) is running a never-done-before promotion on subscriptions. They’ve increased the discount to 20% off and it will be good for three months of your subscription (vs the typical one month). Use my code jessannkirbyfall20. My top product picks are the Daily Gummies (great if you are new to CBD), the Daily Softgels (amazing for help with sleep), and the Relief Balm (for pain, cramps, etc). It’s available to both new customers AND existing customers who have never subscribed previously.

If you’ve been following the Gabby Petito case, it’s important to know that there are currently thousands of unsolved disappearances and murders of Indigenous women as well.

I got this rug as a runner for our hallway in Vermont and I’m so impressed. It’s incredibly soft and thick, the quality is really impressive. Considering getting another Rejuvenation rug for our living room they have tons of great options.

Yum! Have you tried crispy rice? If not, you might want to try it for dinner this weekend.

I found myself nodding in agreement to this post from Grace about having a lack of stamina.

No, the vaccinated are not as likely to spread Covid as the unvaccinated.

Have you seen the documentary LuLaRich? It’s a pretty wild expose of the MLM scheme.

What an incredible woman! Betty Reid Soskin is America’s oldest park ranger but that’s only a little bit of her story.

It’s 20% off everything at Madewell for Insiders. I’m a big fan of their Perfect Vintage Denim, and this henley sweatshirt looks super cozy.

Bet you didn’t know some of this info about Sylvia Plath.

TW: mentions of abuse and sexual assault. 26 people share why they changed from anti-abortion to pro-choice.

True crime, internet sleuths, and the search for a missing boy.

The treatment of Haitians at the Texas border is inhumane, and exposes a double standard toward refugees.

Just in case anyone else here vividly remembers the music video for Tom Petty’s Mary Jane’s Last Dance and wants all of Kim Basinger’s behind-the-scenes info.

My absolute favorite place for leggings, PACT is having a tiered sale (use code SAVEMORE for up to 25% off). Their pocket leggings are so soft, comfortable and well made. Plus they’re made with organic cotton and Fair Trade Certified.

Hey Jess! Would you consider giving a heads up as to where the linked articles direct to, for the sites that offer subscription only content? For a few of the sites like the Atlantic that only offer a few free site visits per month it can be a bummer to realize i accidentally used one up!
