Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby on the same day, jackpot. The beautiful, sunny weather we’ve been waiting for showed up just in time too. Cheers to guac and mint juleps (or maybe we’ll just stick to margaritas). Happy weekend.

“Why Is Modern Motherhood Only Ever Depicted as Magical or Miserable?” — THANK YOU!
I’ve had so many people portray motherhood as this magical bond that makes me feel so guilty. Yes, I do have this awesome bond with my daughter but it’s not all rainbows and unicorns. And it isn’t miserable either, yes it can be challenging but so is life in general.
People set these ridiculous expectations of what motherhood is mainly thanks to posed photos and posts via the internet so people have this idealistic perception of what motherhood is and when they realize what it’s like is where the miserable part comes from. I never set any sort of expectations, motherhood is like life, it has its ups and its downs and you just go with the flow of it.
