Happy July. Honestly I can’t believe it’s already here. We’ve had so much rain these last few weeks. I’m trying not to let it be a bummer. I have a habit of romanticizing summer, and trying to make it magical and special, especially with a toddler. I’ve had to give myself a bit of a reality check.

Summer is great, but it’s also new routines and wacky schedules, and it can feel chaotic. I know I’ll probably sound like a broken record, but being off social media is really nice. It’s so easy (for me) to get sucked into the feeling of not doing enough, when in reality, as we all know, social media is not reality. And reality is complicated, for everyone. All that to say, we’ve been having a lot of fun too. Long days at the lake, gardening and just mellow days at home have been so nice.

We don’t have any plans for the next few days, lots of projects at the house and hopefully some time at the lake. But the truth is, my toddler would be happy playing with the dogs and running through the sprinkler, and I would too.
