Happy Saturday. If you caught it on IG we had a busy week of house projects, Craig ripped off all the remaining siding (vinyl AND clapboard) and is replacing the rest of the windows. It feels never ending but also very exciting. We’ve already re-done all the windows and siding in the back and it looks absolutely incredible. The front is going to be an amazing transformation.
Every time we go to Target Marin makes a beeline for the little kiosk with seeds. I think she likes the bright flowers on the packaging. Last night we finally let her pick some and we’re going to plant some seeds this weekend. I’ve never done any gardening planting things from seeds so I’m actually pretty excited to see how this goes. Wish us luck! Have a great weekend.
Here’s the best of the week…

With Martha Stewart, I think I side with Jessica DeFino! And I applaud her for pointing it out instead of settling with “good enough” or “it’s progress.” There’s something to be said for taking gradual steps in the right direction, but progress feels so slow for women already that I think applauding something below the ideal just slows the journey there. Of all the places to see progress in ageism, the last place that feels like progress to me is in a magazine largely targeting a male audience while generally highlighting only the physical value of a woman. Who does that actually help? I’ll admit I’ve never read SI so maybe there’s some thoughtful think pieces accompanying the cover models but something tells me probably not? Lol.
