snowfall-newport-ri-bowens-wharf-jess-ann-kirbyThis week was a great opportunity to recover from the holiday, reflect on the past year and plan for the year ahead. Hopefully you were able to take some time for yourselves and do the same. You’ve probably heard by now that we’ve got some big (and exciting) changes coming in early 2017. Thank you so much for your support and readership. All of you keep us motivated to work harder, be more creative and come up with fresh ideas. The best is yet to come. Have a happy and safe New Year’s.
xx
Jess (J) and Caylin (C)

If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

Required viewing for Bon Iver fans.

My husband got me an immersion blender for Christmas so I tried out this recipe for bacon butternut squash soup—it’s full of flavor and I can’t stop eating it. (C)

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are total relationship goals.

I spent this week working on my 2017 goals and I’m excited to share some tips next week on how to set and achieve your own. I got this planner to help keep me on track. (J)

Have you done any of these career boosting things over your holiday break?

The world lost a hell of a feminist this week. Rest in peace Carrie Fisher. You will always be one of our favorite heroines. Here, some of her best (and funniest) quotes.

I love this feathered skirt from Club Monaco, but have very real worries that I’d look like an oversized chicken in it. (C)

If only this life themed brochure were socially acceptable to hand out at family gatherings. It would really cut down on the BS.

If you need a good book check out Grace’s Nov/Dec reading list. (J)

You gotta laugh to keep from crying right? These New Yorker cartoons will definitely help.

We liked this idea on how to come up with some positive new year’s resolutions from Lauren Conrad.

Loving this color scheme as a possibility for my upcoming birthday party! I’m going girly. (C)
