5 Things I Never Travel Without

When I looked back on our travel last year and some of the places we want to visit this year, I didn’t anticipate we’d have 3 trips under our belt before the middle of March. We already have a really busy travel schedule this year and trying to maintain any sort of routine while traveling and working can be a challenge. I have some essentials I never travel without that help me stay organized, energized and healthy. As we head out on another two week trip (half work, half play), I figured it was the perfect time to share what I never leave the house without when I travel. And in case you missed it, I made a video of my skincare travel essentials (below) with a lot of tips for keeping your skin healthy on the go.

Silk Sleep Mask

Shop the Mask

Extravagant, maybe, but this silk sleep mask is one of the best splurges I’ve made recently. I’ve always been a sleep mask person (if you haven’t tried one, just trust me, I got my Mom hooked too) but silk takes it to another level. Whether you wear it on a red eye flight or to help you sleep once you get to your destination this thing is a game changer. Not only does it feel soothing but silk is actually better for your skin because it’s breathable and 100% hypoallergenic. So you can rest easy and feel fancy doing it.

Cozy Pajamas

Shop the pajama set (I wear size small which fits a little loose).

I think I’ve got at least half of you already hooked on Lake Pajamas (eventually it will be everyone, haha). I discovered the brand a few years ago in Charleston and they’ve been a favorite ever since. They are the COZIEST PJs ever. They come in a few different styles and a ton of adorable prints. Bringing these along for travel make me feel a bit more at home and help me get a better night sleep. And they don’t take up a lot of room in my luggage so I always bring a pair or two on any trip. Just a note about washing instructions, the website is very specific but I just machine wash in cold water and dry on a low-medium temp (and I’ve had some pairs for years).

Sheet Masks

Shop sheet masks

The easiest and quickest way to give your skin a pick-me-up when traveling. You can even mask on the plane (just make sure it’s a mask you don’t need to rinse afterwards). Travel can do a number on your skin so taking extra steps to keep it healthy are key. I usually bring a few different ones so I can use whatever my skin needs. They’re so easy to just throw in your purse, trust me, your skin will thank you. These are a few of my favorites.

Large Tote

Shop the tote

If you watched the Youtube video you’ve already seen this MZ Wallace tote. This is my absolute favorite bag to travel with because it fits EVERYTHING. The handles are also soft and cushion-y so they don’t dig into your shoulder. And it’s easy to squish and make small if you need to throw it in your luggage. They have a few different sizes and colors to choose from too.

Cashmere Travel Wrap

Shop the wrap

Pretty sure everyone knows by now how much I love my cashmere travel wrap (I have it in grey and sand). I never travel without at least one of them. A scarf, a wrap, a blanket, it’s so soft and versatile and has a way of making even the most basic airport travel outfit look chic. Regardless of the climate I’m traveling to, I will always have a use for it at one point or another on the trip (and I like having it for cold planes and airports). I know a few of you asked if I could find anything similar for less, honestly I’ve tried, but haven’t found anything that compares. There’s a few styles on their site on sale right now, this color is gorgeous.
