3 Under the Radar Spots in Newport

I love sharing some of my favorite places to visit in Newport, so when Vince Camuto asked if I could share my top 3 hidden gems, styling pieces from their spring collection, I jumped at the chance. Seriously though how cute is this floral bomber? Honestly it was a little harder than I thought to come up with places that are under the radar. Living in a tourist town, it feels like almost everything has been discovered. If you happen to find yourself in town, you can’t go wrong at any of these spots.

Coffee Grinder, Bowen’s Wharf

If you weren’t looking for it, you’d probably miss it. The Coffee Grinder is at the very end of Bowen’s Wharf, tucked away in a corner spot on the water. Nothing better than watching the harbor sparkle as boats come and go while you sip a cafe latte. And the owner loves dogs so bring your four legged friend!

Fort Adams

The Fort is one of my favorite places to go year round. It can be a bit chilly on windy days in the winter (and by chilly I mean absolutely freezing) but you can’t beat the views and the history. In the summer we love to take Nora there for swims off the rocks and to watch the sun go down. You can check out the public beach, walk along the docks, explore the Fort or grab a blanket and have a picnic on the hill overlooking the Bay and the Newport Bridge. I love to go for walks there in the spring because it’s so quiet and peaceful. You can get a great view of the harbor and downtown and there’s plenty of parking.

Perro Salado

I’m always a bit amazed by how many people don’t know about Perro Salado. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in Newport, particularly when the weather gets warmer. They have the BEST margaritas, try the spicy jalapeño or blood orange. In the summer, they have an outdoor patio and live music on some nights. The restaurant is an old house that was converted to a restaurant so imagine small, cozy rooms, a fireplace and tons of charm.

I hardly ever comment on anyone’s blog(post) – but I am beyond excited to be able to visit Newport in just a few weeks. Me and my friends will be doing a little road trip through MA and down to NY. Since I am a loyal reader/follower of your blog, I’ve already convinced my friends to have a stop in Newport. Now we even got some nice tips where to go, while we’re there! Thanks, Jess!

    Greetings from Austria,
