Most days in the summer, you’ll find me in denim shorts. I got so many requests to do a round-up of my favorite pairs, it felt like the perfect time to do a blog post of my top 5 denim shorts. The number one thing I look for is comfort, there is nothing worse than stiff, tight denim, especially on a hot day, no thanks. What I love about all of these pairs is they get better every time you wear them. Some of them feel like that pair you’ve had forever right away and a few others take a little breaking in but are worth the wait. One thing I’d recommend for pretty much all of these is to minimize washing. The more you wear them, the more comfortable and molded to your body they feel (some more than others, I’ll explain below).
This is the pair I wear the most. They’re SO comfortable. From the day I got them, they fit like a glove. AGOLDE sizing can run big but this pair fits me TTS (size 24). These are a high waist fit, lighter wash and have distressing with a frayed hem. I’ve worn this pair too many times to count.
Various sizes available below (all pairs linked are the same style)
I’ve had this pair of Levi’s for years. I just wrote a blog post on them the other day which you can find here. If you’re looking for a good vintage pair check eBay (they have new too). This pair needs a bit more breaking in and I recommend going a size up. Once you do break them in though they are super comfortable and flattering. This is a pair I’d recommend keeping washing to a minimum.
I ordered this pair after I got the same style in the Ricochet wash. I didn’t realize how much the wash would change the fit of these shorts. This pair has a totally different feel than the ricochet, a bit more structured and fitted, and a darker rinse. I wear my regular size in this pair but they are a tighter fit than the pair I have in this style in the other wash.
Can you tell I love the 501s? They definitely take a little breaking in but for the price and how they feel once you do wear them a few times it’s hard to beat. This is the same style as my other Levi’s but in white. As with the other pair I recommend sizing up and washing infrequently. It takes a few wears to break these in.
