I can’t remember the last time we had such a cold (and snowy) December. With the exception of that record cold winter we had a few years ago, Decembers have been mild and downright warm in recent years. But this year we just jumped right into with VERY cold days, FREEZING cold nights and a decent amount of snow. It gets harder and harder to look stylish as the weather gets colder, but for now while it’s still new and we’re enjoying how festive it feels I can share some winter style that’s practical AND cute. It kind of makes me laugh when I see some of these outfits with heels and skirts in the snow. Really?! Do people actually do that? I guess I might’ve attempted that when I was in my early 20s and not making the best decisions, haha. But really, I’m just too old for that $hit. If we’re going out and it’s snowy and cold, whether it’s dinner, a party or a dog walk, I just want to be warm and comfortable. I don’t think you have to sacrifice style though. I finally invested in a Canada Goose. I’ve been thinking, researching, looking for years and decided to treat myself and honestly I’m really happy with the purchase. It IS as warm and cozy as everyone says. I tried a few different styles before settling on the expedition parka (runs big I got the xxs). Paired with a rainbow stripe sweater and colorful scarf it’s a bit brighter than what I’d normally wear but I love that it’s a ray of sunshine on a chilly day. These boots from Sam Edelman are still one of my favorite purchases this year. In all honesty, not a true snow boot, my feet were wet at the end of this walk, but a great all around winter boot for basically anything but trudging through deep snow (I’d stick to Sorels or Bean boots for that). Honestly I’m really loving this cold weather and snowy days, I know I’ll be eating my words in a few months but for now I’m soaking it all in.
