When I did my reader survey a few months back one of the most popular requests was for work outfit inspiration. So I guess first things first, sorry it took me so long to do a blog post about that (and I promise I’ll do more). Honestly I was kind of hesitant because selfishly, I love the fact that I don’t have a dress code anymore. One of my least favorite things about my old job was my wardrobe (or lack thereof). In the beginning I was excited and spent a lot of time planning my work outfits (the dress code was pretty conservative and included a requirement for women to wear hose with a skirt, yes even in the summer, I did not obey this rule FYI). As the years went on I got sick of trying to reinvent the wheel at work, and even more sick of suits and the color black. Fast forward a few years and I think my love affair with denim came out of my rebellion against anything that felt even remotely “office appropriate.” But I’ve come full circle with this look that’s equal parts workwear and weekend. I was a bit inspired by Olivia Palermo and her classic style. These insanely flattering trousers, the Sloan fit from Banana Republic look so chic with a simple v-neck sweater and pointed toe pumps (I’m dying over these heels they are so gorgeous). Throw on a blazer for work if you’re office is more conservative and swap it for a denim jacket on the weekend. This look would be just as cute with sneakers or flats. The best part, it’s up to 40% off fall styles at Banana Republic right now

Thank you to Banana Republic for sponsoring this post. All opinions expressed are my own.
