As summer rolls around and we start breaking out the bikinis, sun dresses and cutoffs, we are all about skipping harmful rays and using products that give a sun-kissed glow. Getting some sun and vitamin D is definitely ok, but make sure you’re wearing SPF (50+). Skip the sunburn and try some of these must-have products for face and body that won’t leave you looking orange. Get your glow on ladies (and let us know if you have any favorites we missed in the comments)!

Before you Bronze…

Exfoliate! DIY your own scrub by mixing white sugar with your body wash, or try this Sea Polish from French Girl Organics to remove dead skin. It’s SO important to do this before you use any bronzing products to ensure they go on evenly and don’t leave you looking blotchy.

Face: Powders

Stila Stay All Day Bronzer: This powder has been my go-to for years. It’s great for your face and body all year round. I apply it with a fluffy brush all over on days I need some color or a fan brush to contour for special occasions.

Hoola by Benefit: You can’t go wrong with this cult favorite. It’s a flattering shade for almost any skin tone and doesn’t look orange or unnatural. It’s a must have in everyone’s makeup bag and is perfect for any and every occasion.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer: Forgo flat and unflattering bronzers and opt for this luminescent angel dust that will give you a subtle sun-kissed glow. It’s pearlescent swirls brighten and highlight, while bronze tones make you look fresh from a day at the beach.

Face: Creams

RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer: This organic bronzer is sheer, non-greasy and perfect to achieve your dewy, baby-faced dreams. Warm it up with your finger and then blend it into the skin. It’s nice for a subtle glow or easy to build if you want to go a little darker. PRO TIP: In case of uneven suntans or sunglass tans, use it to even out your face.

Glossier Haloscope Topaz: If you’re new to highlighters, Haloscope is the place to start. This golden highlighting stick is the perfect way to brighten up your face. It’s got just the right amount of sheen without any glitter. Apply on the top of your cheekbones, under the arch of your eyebrows and on the inner corners of your eyes.

Vapour Solar Translucent Bronzer: For an easy to apply sun-kissed glow, use this hydrating bronzer stick to add some color and contour to your face. Its creamy consistency is easy to blend and it comes in 3 different shades so you can choose the one that’s right for your skin tone. Bonus– It’s non-toxic and nourishes your skin with pomegranate oil, sunflower seed oil, and beeswax.

Chanel Tan de Soleil: This gel-cream classic dries with a velvet matte finish and stays on all day. It’s light, breathable and looks as natural in indoor lighting as it does outside in the sun. Use it on its own or use a translucent setting powder on top for more formal settings.

Body

St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse: For an all over glow that won’t leave you looking orange,  you can’t go wrong with St. Tropez, the gold standard for self-tanners. It’s mousse-like consistency that’s easy to spread on in even the trickiest of places. To avoid looking streaky (and freaky), be sure to use the mitts even application (and to save your hands!).

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: Warm up your complexion with this radiance-boosting gel. To use it, mix 3-4 drops with your favorite moisturizer and apply all over your body as usual.

Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Self Tanner: If you have dry skin and want to avoid flakiness and get some extra hydration, try a self-tan oil. Buff this liquid gold into your skin with a velour mitt that will absorb the product so that you don’t lose any during application.

By Terry Soul Hydra-Bronzing Tinted Serum: A subtle hydrating tinted cream that boasts treating free radical damage and signs of aging (sign us up!). Smooth it into your face with your fingers or use a dampened beauty blender to apply.
